Thread: Looking for instructor in the Pittsburgh area

Hi dancers!
A friend of mine from Pittsburgh is interested in taking classes. She'd be a complete beginner - never having done any previous classes, nor videos. Could you please recommend a good instructor in the Pittsburgh area? Thanks so much!

First, tell her to come to Your Inner Vagabond tomorrow night (4130 Butler Street, in Lawrenceville). Jen (also on Bhuz) and myself (aka Nesheli) will dance at 8:30. It's gonna be great fun! I would recommend the beginner classes by Ronnie Zanzig through Dance Alloy (Dance Alloy Theater | Welcome) for a more oriental focus, and by Kari Merlina (Kari Merlina and Sterling Painton) for a more tribal fusion focus. I am currently talking to the Inner Vagabond, I'd like to start teaching myself.

Kind of a late reply, but I'll second Amethyst. I met her last May in Miami at an Ansuya comprehensive. She's a great dancer and person. Super nice!
