Thread: My Third Annual Student Showcase! - UPDATED! With Video!

It's tomorrow!! Aaackk!!! I'm so nervous! This year, a few of my advanced students and I are doing a very BDSS -inpsired opening number to Pharonic Odyssey, and I am dancing with my students on stage for the first time. That's what I'm most nervous about!!

My students have been busting their butts for months for this show and I know they are going to do a great job. I just can't wait to be done so I can relax!!

Ha ha, this reminds me of myself before my annual show (there's a reason I only do them once a year) - I too resort to the "calm" meds but. I find I just can't enjoy my concerts on the night - too much to do, too many things I feel responsible for (like everything, even if I'm not). I always wait for the video to sit back and enjoy it. Then I watch it again and again and ooh and aww at my students' dancing (and hopefully not too much 'ugh' or 'oh!').

This is a video of the opening....my girls were awesome!! It's a very BDSS-inspired choreo (yes, I stole the "undulate in a line" move from them, cuz we love it:Aembarassed: )

Anyway, bhuzzer Amyraks did the pro-video (can't wait to see it) but here is an audience cam for the time being...I come out mid-way and am in the pink.

Congratulations! What a fantastic opening number. The choregraphy and dancing are both great, and the students look so well rehearsed and smiley. The costuming worked really well, too - goes to show that different costumes and colours can work well if the colours all 'theme' well together. Your dancing is lovely too - very personable and welcoming. I love the enthusiastic woo-hoos coming from the guy in the audience.

Very nicely done! Congratulations - the opening number was wonderful- love the costumes.

Thank you both for your kind words. Yes, we tried the "color theme" costume idea - neutrals (gold, burgundy, copper) for the group and hot pink for me. (so I would look a little different!)

Wow, Daniela, you must be a great teacher b/c it looks like you brought out the best in each of your students. The choreo was great and I was impressed with the girls all over uniformity in dance and costuming. Nice job!!
