Where to pop a post for my new classes.

    Hi Everybody,

So I want to pop a quick post on here from time to time for my classes and I'm wondering what the right topic is for this sort of thing. This forum? Or Maybe the Rest Belly Dance forum? what do you think?

What about putting it in the Teacher Listings?

I think this is a good forum for that kind of post too Shems... Obviously under teachers listings too but I don't see why it wouldn't belong here also? I mean if I were looking for an instructor this is were I would post, why would it be different as an instructor listing new classes?

The listings let people search by area & so forth. The boards just aren't set up to let people find classes in their area.

If they're regular weekly classes, it would overwhelm the board if we all posted every time we had a new offering -- there are hundreds of active teachers here who start new classes all the time.

I think it's fine to mention special topic classes, workshops, etc. though if each person is only posting once or twice a year. Some people, like Bahaia and JimBoz, will post their upcoming tour schedule once or twice a year, that hasn't become an issue yet, either.

I hear what you're saying, but I didn't think Shems was talking about posting every new 8 week session as she said "From time to time." I seem to remember a thread a while back where she posted about classes at a new location maybe(?) and while it included a couple fundamental classes I remember that there were more specialized classes on things like stage dynamics & presence (workshop caliber stuff) -- I don't see a problem with that kind of post. *Where was that darned thing?* It got a good bit of positive feedback as I recall... I still think the BellyDance Student and Instructor Center is a good spot for students & instructors to connect; but I agree that posting every new session would be beyond the bounds of the forum. I don't think that's what she meant but it is possible I misunderstood as I'm naive and misinterpret things alot... but I'm cute and I'm happy ;that's gotta count for something, right,r:; ?
    Blessings,
    Rach

I prefer that class announcements stay off the boards. We are an international board and I while I find knowing about classes across the world from me a little interesting...it's not THAT interesting.
