Thread: good video for pop & lock combos?

Hi, can anyone suggest good videos for learning new pop & lock combos? I have Michelle Joyce's Pops Locks & Shimmies, and also her Drills Drills Drills. I like to have videos around for days when I don't want to work on choreography, and when I feel like I need a good, structured workout to drill to!

So I am not sure about "pop and lock" but I really like the BDSS "Art of the drum solo" with Sonia. She goes over I think 7 rhythm's and different combos to use with them. Also a cute Choreo at the end.

Asharah has a tribal fusion dvd that has pop and lock stuff. That is her specialty and she rocks doing it.

not really pops and locks is it though? Heartbeat of Bellydance is drum solos, again with rythmns by Jenna. also Sonia Drum solo

Thanks, I have the Jenna Heartbeat DVD, which I adore & have worn out, and the Sonia DVD also, which I liked OK. I'm definitely going to look into Asharah and IAMED DVDs. Thanks! Any more??

If you want more of a "this is a pop, this is a lock" sort of DVD, Saqra has a nice one called Drum Solo Improvisation. It explores popping and locking in general. I don't remember specific combos, but she takes you through several variations of the movements.

I second the recommendation for Asharah's video. She's a good instructor.

However, if you want to learn classical popping for fusion(Popping) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, I recommend you buy some instructional videos from master poppers like The Electric Boogaloos. (http://www.electricboogaloos.com/). I'm also a huge fan of Salah , but I don't know if he has any videos, except on youtube, etc.
