Thread: Belly Dance in Japan - Hokaido- Help!

I'm moving to Hokkaido (the northernmost island in Japan) in August and I was wondering if anyone had any contacts up there or knew of instructors near there. It's really far from Tokyo and Osaka so I wouldn't be able to study with any teachers down there very affordably. Any ideas?
I'm so frustrated because I've been living in Vermont where I'm really far from decent teachers and now I'm moving even farther (I'm assuming) from access to BD. Any contacts would be appreciated!

I know of no one. The scene in Tokyo is banging and huge, but Hokkaido is...Hokkaido.

Email Mishaal (Belly Dance by Mishaal) because she might know someone ... and come down into Tokyo for big workshops.

I thought my first year at Maharajan (2003) there was a troupe from Hokkaido...hmmmm

Look for culture centres: Sapporo, Asahi or Duo CC, for studio 1002 (Egyptian), Rukia (mostly Turkish), or Bellydancer Community (both). Let us know your experience.

I didn`t find any instruction in English available in Hokkaido.
