Thread: Dance Classes in Alexandria, VA?

Are there any instructors in Alexandria, VA, either private lessons or group classes? I can only get to Sahara on weekends, and I go to Alexandria enough to take some classes. I couldn't find anything on the net, but maybe there is no website (which would be unusual). Anyway, just looking for more classes soon!

I think when Cleopatra's Closet opens, they'll be offering classes. In their other location, they had studios that were rented out for regular classes, with good teachers.

What about Saffron in Arlington?

Oh, I know about Saffron in Arlington. My instructor teaches there also, but with gas prices, I refuse to go to Arlington until I figure out an alternative way (public transportation). I take the train to Alexandria anyway, so I want something there. Thanks for the input anyway!

Saffron is on the Orange Line, so gas prices aren't an issue. I find it interesting that there is no bus or train connection between Alexandria and Arlington since they are right next to each other.

Anyway, Alexandria is a fairly spacious city. It has 4 metro stops, and then there is the Old Town area. Where exactly in Alexandria are you? Have you considered going to a place closer to your home or somewhere in between?

ETA: I googled "Belly Dance Alexandria, VA" and got a couple of places offering instruction. What search engine did you use?

I'd have to look at the DASH or Metrobus to see how far they go out. I'd be going in the evening, and though they run late, the VRE doesn't nor do I.
I googled it too, but I'd also like some suggestions from other DC Area Bhuzzers. I already attend two different classes in my local area.

Are you in that area? Who have you gone too if you are?

I live on the Maryland/Alexandria border, but I dance mostly at Sahara in Chinatown.
