Thread: Does anyone know this dancer/teacher?

She used to teach here in Rochester many years ago and founded the area's first belly dance troupe. From pictures she's posted in her Tribe.net profile, it looks like she's also worked with Bobby Farah, Jamilah and Suhaila, and Omar Faruk Tekbilek. All very impressive!

She's coming back here to teach a workshop at the end of the month and I'm debating whether to sign up for it. I can't seem to find any other information about her. A query to her about what, exactly, she'll be teaching has only netted me a cryptic response.

Anyone know this lady? I have to hoard my workshop dollars and choose carefully.

That workshop does sound a little mysterious, doesn't it? ..c:: I think I met Babarah once, maybe at an Ibrahim Farrah workshop -- the name rings a bell. If you go to the workshop, be sure to tell us what it was like.

No, I have never heard of her. It looks like she's been around for a long time and possibly teaches the old Arabic style based on the age of the photographs.
