I'm introducing finger cymbals to my beginner classes now on lesson #3, and I intend to keep working on my own playing and teaching...I just taught a mini-workshop on it at Dance Camp, and I intend to keep fleshing it out and adding to it. LOVE me some zills!

From what I can tell, it's similar. You shouldn't have any problems.

THanks! I'm slower to start students w/cymbals than most I think, tho - I give them 6 months - 1 yr. before we start them in class!

I've only been trying this for three class sessions now (this coming Monday night will be the third time for my new crop of students), and I've been amazed at how well they've caught on to playing while moving. It's been very satisfying to see students learning to play so early in their dance training!

I agree. I plan on introducing Sagats in my level two class.

And the DVD series is coming out when? The one that goes all the way up to the accented 16th note rolls that you play on the Sands of Time video??

I am teaching basic zills for my beginner tribal class (ATS-esque group improv). I have the FCBD DVD but have been doing other research to broaden my knowledge. I found your videos and love them for practice, so thank you!
