Which belly dance print magazines do you read?
Which print belly dance magazines do you read? Do you read just one, or several?
These are the North America ones that I know of:
Zaghareet
Jareeda
Chronicles
Mid-Bits
Now defunct are Habibi, Caravan, and Belly Dancer (though this one has been replaced with the web version ishimmy.com)
For those of you outside North America, what magazines exist in your country and which do you read yourself?

Re: Which belly dance print magazines do you read?
I like the Chronicles. I started getting it for free with my MECDA subscription, then kept up with it on my own after MECDA dropped them. Some of the articles are really good, but mostly I refer to it as "Belly Dance Eye Candy" because of it's bold, colorful ads and pictures of dancers.
I leave copies in my home studio for students to look through, and they think it's really cool that there's an official looking magazine dedicated to Belly Dance.
I think the subscription rate is pretty inexpensive for the production quality ($29/year), and they publish on a reliable timetable that you could nearly set your watch by.

I'm in the UK - I read "Mosaic" magazine and "Nada" magazine. I sometimes swap magazines with a friend across the pond, so I get to read the odd copy of Jareeda and Zaghareet.

I read "Caravan" until Serena became to ill to continue with it - it was quite good. I really enjoyed "The Chronicles" when I received it as part of my (now defunct) MECDA membership, but haven't seen it since. I have had all the good intentions of subscribing to it directly - we all know about the road that is paved with "good intentions"...

Chronicles..hmm, did not care for it. in fact, when i WAS a mecda member, i asked them to stop sending it.
in the "old days", you read about history, the why's and how's got answered.
todays maggs are like a PTA news letter my mother got.
i only reada BERTS offerings, ..the rest is all opinion, according to the tastes of the mags owner.
after a while one has to put these down, stop jumping from style to style, work shop to festival, get down and figure out what YOUR dance is all about! who cares what size crown some one wore at cairo gyro....( why crowns anyway? never got that )

Plug for a local: Middle Eastern dance News in New England. Amy has done an amazing job taking a one page event letter and turning it into a magazine.

I read the Chronicles and Zahhareet.
I will second the Middle Easten Dance news in new England! Its great!
The North Texas Middle Eastern Dance Association (Web Site Unavailable) also has a printed publication called "Papyrus" as well. I think many Bhuzzers have contributed to it at some point!

I subscribed to Zagahreet, but honestly have been very disappointed with the large amount of non-bellydance articles and such in it.

I have read Zagahreet, but wasn't all that excited by it, frankly. That's why I started writing my own, online. Wish I could go print!! But, no time or $$ right now!

I have recently subscribed to Yallah. It showcases the Florida bellydance community. I have recieved the first two copies. The premier issue features Bozenka and the second copy features Ansuya. They are absolutly gorgeous magazines and the editor Nikka has done a fabulous job on them- Glossy thick pages, beautiful photographs, professionally and tastefully done. It is a quarterly issued magazine and I look forward to the next one. I can't wait to see what will be in the next issue! I am pleased with my purchase

Not "outside of North America" but in another language :).
Papyrus, a french ME magazine based near Montréal which is mostly aimed towards French(or french-speaking)-Canadians, France and french-speaking Europeans.
It's been running for a little over 10 years now.
In addition to that, I have read Zaghareet and Mid-Bits.

I had a subscription to Zaghareet but I only received one issue and never heard from them again. I attempted to contact them but never got to actually talk to a real person.

I dont really subscribe to any of them but I read them for free through the interlibrary loan. So far, I've liked articles in habibi.
