Help - attack of the static veil!

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for someone who is permanently getting stuck to a silk veil. I have been driven insane today by my new (and totally gorgeous) 5mm veil, which is sticking to my skin, my hair, my face .. and leaving me with enough static electricity to give myself a decent zap when I touch something metal. And not just once ... constantly! Is there an anti-static spray that can be used safely on silk (or the human body?) Any suggestions welcome ... my veil dance resembles a wrestling match and my hair is standing on end!

    Thanks!

static guard spray will save your life. :) I had the same problem when I tried out my brand new seat of seven akai veils for the first time, that I was going to compete with *that coming weekend.* I got on bhuz all in a panic, got the static guard the next day, and it worked a charm. spray your veils, your skirt, your hair. you'll be fine. :)

i'm afraid of spraying anything liquid anywhere near a silk veil.
    i use unscented dryer sheets.
rub them on the veil, or anything else, to reduce static

Run the veil through a wire coat hanger, making sure that the veil comes into contact with the hanger. I don't use chemicals on my silks, and with the coat hanger trick, I don't have static problems, even in a Minnesota winter!

Thanks everyone for your advice! I'll start with the non-liquid options and progress from there. I must admit I have been zapping myself all day (and I was dancing hours ago) so maybe it's just my "electric personality". I'll go and look up the old thread as well.

    Cheers

Not sure if this will work with veils, but a trick that does work with a skirt is to rub moisturiser on your legs. So perhaps, if you rub moisturiser on bare arms and neck, it may help repel the veil???

Ok. I do this. Jessenia may faint. I throw my silk veils in the dryer on low with a very damp (but not dripping) washcloth and a dryer sheet. bye bye wrinkles and static!!!

if i have a gig coming up and statis is an issue. i put the veil in a plastic bag with a dryer sheet and get all the air out. it comes out of the bag static free usually. i have been known to do the dryer thing like sonja but only under extreme circumstances.

well, I don't want anyone to screw up their veils, but I have to admit, I do this weekly & haven't had any problems as long as I use the lowest setting. Frankly, i hate to iron, so this is the only way I get out the wrinkles. ..g.:
