06-15-2007 12:25 PM #2I'm having a nightmare with Venbrook Insurance Services (www.myfitnessinsurance.com) They processed my payment 6 frigging weeks ago and I've received nothing by email or snail mail. The contact phone number is always answered by a machine, no option to hold for a real person and they don't return messages. If this is the service when you are signing up I shudder to think what it would be like if you had to make a claim!!,m::

My insurance is through this company:
http://www.fitnessandwellness.com/
I haven't had any problems, although (knock wood!) I've never filed a claim.

I've been pretty happy with Venbrook -- though I've never had to call. Just a couple of weeks ago, I added an additional insured (via fax) and got the documentation I needed within a week or two by e-mail. They also faxed the documentation to the club, at my request.
I used to have my insurance through fitnesspack, I was happy with them, too (though again I never had a claim)
Related question (if you don't mind me piggybacking on your insurance thread) I switched from fitnesspack to Venbrook because I could add my part-time instructors CHEAP, but now they've changed their policy and I can't do that any more. Anyone know of an insurance co. that still lets you add p/t instructors?

Kim...if it makes you feel any better...I had the same issue...I paid and then rec'd no 'certificate' as promised. They ended up emailing a PDF with the whole policy (their 'certificate'), but for the $$$, I wanted paper and insisted and they sent it...it was weeks of nagging...I had more luck emailing than calling...

I'm having issues with them too. I used them last year and had my policy and additional insureds in a week. This year I renewed in what I thought was time for Tribal Revolution and I'm STILL waiting for my paperwork. The Tribal Rev sites require certificates of insurance... is 3 days away... and I have NOTHING!!
I emailed them and got a response back that stated they'd processed my application and that it would be 30 days (.w.: ) for the paperwork. However, their email stating this and reviewing what my coverage is should be sufficient proof.
Huh... the venue doesn't think so.

okay everyone who's having problems with venbrook.... .email them with a true sense of urgency and dont' let up. I got my policy via email yesterday after telling them their email saying I'm covered wasnt' good enough for my venues this weekend.
The really good news is Tribal Revolution can go on as planned. We'd have been seriously screwed if that certificate hadn't arrived.
06-21-2007 09:47 AM #12I've always insured my events through my State Farm agent. I can call, tell them the amount of coverage I need, drop by the office a few hours later with a check and the cert is ready *blesses their efficient hearts*

*update: I finally got my Venbrook pdf. by calling their main office number (818.225.6200) and FYI the fitness insurance division's supervisor's name is WendyLast edited by Kimahri; 06-27-2007 at 04:38 PM.

What are the average going rates for insurance say if you teach in or own a studio, per year? I get insurance thru the recreation center that I teach at and all of my students pay $8.50 for insurance. I was just curious for future references.

Re: Insurance????
any recent experiences with Venbrook? anyone?
I'm looking to get an insurance (need it quite fast within 3 weeks) and considering them... their price seems good.

Re: Insurance????
I had event insurance through these people: Liability Insurance For Entertainers And Performers
They were super easy to deal with and super fast - I got my certificate in a few days. But...I'm having the opposite problem with them - they haven't cashed my check yet and the event has been over for two months already!!

Re: Insurance????
thank you! I checked Sadler website, and think will go with them, and not Venbrook.
Do you know who is considered "certified instructor"?.. they have different rates for certified and non-certified instructors.

Re: Insurance????
I'm confused if Sadler covers for events as well or just for performers? I might be reading the site wrong. Let me know, as I am also looking for insurance.

Re: Insurance????
They cover for events, and they do performers and teachers. All three would be separate policies, though. I had my student showcase insured for $383. I am going to purchase performer's insurance through them, and may purchase teaching insurance at a later date.
I don't think bellydancers would be considered "certified" - I'm thinking they mean ACE certification or something like that?

Re: Insurance????
Yeah, I had a guy ask me if I could teach a dance class through his program and he got a bit weirded out that I have no certifications. I am taking one for group fitness instructors for the fall but not sure what to say when asked about that. I mean, I know you can get weekend certifications but no all-around cert for teaching bellydance, right?

Hi Maria,
I've had great luck getting quick responses from Brennan Hall. Here's her email address: sport4@sadlersports.com
Might want to shoot her an email?

Re: Insurance????
I'm insured through State Farm and have had no problems... They include up to three certificates of insurance at any one time with the policy so have been able to insure several teaching gigs and an event or two without adding $$...
Granted, I haven't yet had to file a claim (thank goodness!), but if they handle liability insurance in the same way they handle auto claims, they're super-quick.
The certification questions sound like they could be a whole other thread :) ... hmmm...
