Thread: Anyone had a workshop with Ahmet Ogden?

A three day weekend is coming up. Ahmet is going to be in Osaka for two days of workshops. It's priced at normal Japan prices, so not cheap but within my expectations of such things. The bullet trains or delux overnigth bus and and the hotel, however, are pushing things out of my comfort range price wise right now.

I was wondering if anyone here has done any workshops with him and what you thought of them? He'll be covering Turkish Romani technique for an hour, then 2 hours of choreography (part one) and the next day 3 hours (part 2).

I'd really like some first-hand info on what his workshops are like. Post here or via PM.

I will have three workshops with him in just two weeks! And I'm dancing at the show! Squee!!

Yeah, it's this upcoming weekend. There just wasn't enough cash right now to bring him to Tokyo while in Japan...cr.:

Ahmet is going to be at Fazil's in NYC Nov 8-9, and I CAN'T GO becuz my daughter is going to give birth to her 1st baby any day now. I AM BUMMED about this. No, no, NOT about the baby . . . about Ahmet coming close enough that I could actually get there, only I can't. <sigh>

He came to Tampa a few months ago and was one of the most fun, most dynamic instructors I've ever taken a class with! We did a lot of group dancing and some Romany too and it was really a worthwhile class. Ahmet's got a great sense of humor, too. I highly recommend his class!

I went, Ahmet Ogren was very much worth it. Just took a night bus back from Osaka otherwise I'd wax on and on about it. He's be very much worth going to Turkey for private with.

Trying to get to Turkey next year. Ahmet is willing and on my list...would like to stay busy with Reyhan, Ahmet and brush up with some Sema Yildiz.

Hello to all Dancers, enjoy a wonderful dance get away at one of the most gorgeous cities in the world Istanbul, Turkey.

Yousry Sharif’s first and second annual Oriental Tours with us in Istanbul was so triumphant that we have decided to take advantage of his teaching and continue to have him join us here at Fazil’s in Istanbul, Turkey. This year we are certain it will be even better than last year as the Oriental Tour has been upgraded according to our requests!

We will also have our Turkish Romany Dance with Ahmet Ogren plus this year for the first time accompanying us at Oriental Tour’s, beautiful Turkish Oriental dancer Rana Miras.
