Thread: amazing isis wings work by Angeles Cayunao

hey ladies, have a look at this video, she's amazing :

are these normal isis wings ?? it looks like they are attached quite far away from each other. She doesn't attach them to her neck...
please help me figure out how they are made or where i could get some like these (mine are sewn together in the middle of the neck part if that make any sense..)

Her wings are attached. Check :38, 1:10, 2:58, 3:56 and 4:08 - you can see the piece between the wings. 3:49 she had to step through the wings, if they were not attached that would not have been an issue. She is amazing. I love the move at 3:20! Thx for sharing such an inspiring clip.

her wing fabric looked super floaty. mine are irridescent organza and they've never moved like that!

I love to see someone using a prop in a new creative way. Not attaching the neck piece - what a paradigm shift. "Props" to this lovely dancer. <giggle> Sorry for the bad pun.

That is very nice. Forgive my ignorance, I didn't know they were attached at the neck, thought they were like big semi-circ veils with a stick in each.

Wow! Girl can work those wings thats for sure!
She must have a REEALLY big living room with high ceilings.
Meaning, she has alot of practice time in there.
She could do the "1000 moves to do with Isis wings" video.

I cut off the neck piece on mine and put a piece of lycra to use mine this way (I hated the restricted feeling the other way, felt I was choking myself!), nothing like the way she works it though!

Yeah, you can see that they are attached but with a thin connecting piece that appears to be longer than the usual neck band. That piece is what she held on to for that cone spin.

Yes, I use mine without attaching at the neck, but holy cow, not like that!

She must have arms of steel......................and a stomach of iron (all that spinning, even with spotting, continuous spinning is always a challenge for me)

It was an amazing performance. I liked it. But I still kept waiting for her to put down the wings and just dance. The wings are a great illusion but there's nothing like seeing a dancer express herself solely through her body. But hey, it was wower!
