Thread: You did WHAT on the way to class?

Last night I started a new 6-week session at one of my locations. The weather was terrible, and the venue is difficult to find, but despite that almost all of the brand new students made it there.

At the end of class, one of the new students came up to me and said how much she had enjoyed the class, and that it had helped her recover from a pretty stressful day. She then went on to say, "I got into a car accident on the way here, and hit my head on the steering wheel. Got a big goose egg, in fact. But I forgot all about it during the class!"

All I could think was, I'm glad I had her sign a waiver when she arrived, and that my liability insurance is paid up....w.:

Now THAT's dedication!

Dude..... wow. And I stayed home because I had a fever.

I thought it was bad that I ate a hamburger on the way to class once. Geez.

Oh good lord! 2 weeks ago I had a girl who broke her pinkie toe the afternoon before class. She came, danced, winced. Talk about dedication. Our students are nuts!

I think she might have possibly lost some reasoning in that accident. LOL. Great dedication.

You must've been what the doctor ordered if she felt better after the class! Great job on your part!!

I hope she remembers what she learned.





Seriously, I hope she's okay

That is kind of scary. But, obviously it can't have been a bad enough accident that it required police, car towing, etc. Perhaps by "accident" she just meant she spun off the road or hit a curb or something.

I'm wondering how she hit her head on the steering wheel, though. For me to hit my head on my steering wheel, I'd likely have to go further forward than my seat belt would allow AND would have to bend way forward....unless she's quite short (i.e. had to have seat way forward and head barely clears the wheel), I wonder if she was wearing her seat belt??

I had to chuckle at this. I have a dancer in my troupe and another gal, who has since moved out of state, that were supposed to be at an afternoon show. Well time came and they weren't there. I was a little worried about them but figured they had gotten too nervous and bailed out. It didn't really effect the show so I wasn't too worried. About two songs in I see them booking across to us and they jumped into the back. I did notice one gal's hand was shaking when we turned during a veil piece but I figured it was nerves. Turns out it was nerves all right but not from doing their first performance.
We all went out for drinks and a bite to eat afterwards (it was one of "those" gigs where you walk away saying never again, drinks were required...lol). Over our snack we found out that the two gals had been on route almost an hour early when they got in a fend bender. Some woman rear ended them at a light, luckily not going very fast, but had no insurance so there was a ton of paperwork with the police to deal with. Topping the story off, of course they were dressed for the show, and the cop who turned up to take the report and issue the gal at fault her tickets was one of the other dancer's son-in-law. Only here would that happen....LOL!

Hells yeah, that's some dedication... :)
