Thread: Aradia is coming to St. Louis 1/24/09 !!

Are you ready to shimmy in the new year with some new moves? You'll find lots of cool new stuff and inspiration at the Aradia seminar in St. Louis, January 24 & 25. Saturday she'll be teaching traveling steps, entrances, exits, and Oriental combinations. Sunday will cover veil and taqsim. It might be cold outside, but we'll make it hot . There are still performance spots available, so let me know if you are interested in being put on the program (limited to seminar participants). Several members of Hips Afire have expressed interest, too, but no committment. Hopefully they'll decide while there's still a group spot available.

I was wondering if you'd be able to make it with your foot and all. So glad you'll be able to! Of course The Girls are also welcome, so just let me know.

I'm supposed to dance at Aya Sofia on Friday, luckily there's not much room to move around in there anyway -- and I've been wanting to focus on scampering around less while I dance!

AmiraRayne brought some Aradia videos to class for us to watch, so we're working up an appetite for the workshop.

I want to go, but I doubt I'll be able to afford it... =(

I plan on being there. I've just been squirreling around and forgetting to actually mail my registration.

Ok, your weather seems a predictable as Vegas, we went from snow last week and in the 20's to warm high 60's, all within a week!!! I'm not a cold weather girl, being born and raised in Vegas, I can handle heat, so don't laugh if I look like the Michelin man!!!..l;,..l;,

This time of year is drastically unpredictable in this area, weatherwise. Not to scare you, but it could be arctic, or it could be balmy. Planning for the 30s or 40s for the end of January is usually pretty safe, though.

Should know within the next week as to whether I'll be making it up there for this (and who else from Carbondale will be going). Sounds like the makings of a great event!

I might be able to go if I get enough Birthday money...at least to the Saturday workshop and show. I will know in a couple days.

Aww, I wish we could make it , three of us got to go to her Fayetteville AK, workshop last summer. If you haven't taken her workshops or met her before you will love her. She was just awesome! She is unbelievably nice and friendly too. Have fun everyone!

I'm bringing my daughter & hubby, we're planning on going to the arch on Friday and a visit to Dahlal. Woo Hoo!

How old is your daughter? I can recommend some other St. Louis attractions to keep her and hubby busy if you like.

She is 12 today (Jan. 9)! Happy Birthday to my baby!

Is there any plans for after the show on Saturday?
I'm driving down Thursday evening. Plan on doing some family stuff (and stopping by Dahlal) on Friday. We want to go see the arch for sure. Don't know of anything else to do. Then driving back on Monday. So Friday is really the only day I have to site see. Any ideas?

I LOVE City Museum. It's weird, very different, not at all like a museum, it's like a playground for the body and the imagination. Wear comfy clothes and shoes if you go!

If you prefer, there's also the St. Louis Science Center. It's free except for shows and special exhibits, but you do pay for parking.

There's also the Butterfly House, which is operated by the Missouri Botanical Gardens, but it's out in Chesterfield in Faust Park. Not sure if a 12-year-old would enjoy it (definitely depends on the 12-year-old), but it's indoors and beautiful. Info is at: MBG: The Butterfly House - Home.

The St. Louis Art Museum in Forest Park is also free and, obviously, indoors. Again, depends on the 12-year-old.

Ok Ladies, I checked the weather, and it's in the 20's Be prepared for the michelin man as you teacher..l;, I've only had snow 3x in my life here in Vegas, but the good news is this won't be my coldest workshop, Purdue Univ was something like minus 10!!!
