Naming a new class
I am trying out a new class format at one of the studios where I teach.
I am splitting it into two back to back classes. The first will be an ongoing drop-in class called "Bellydance Fundamentals" (thanks for that one! :-)) The focus will be on beg/adv.beg technique and drills.
The second will be a class that runs on a 5 week session. Each session will have a different focus. It may be a choreography or a technique specialty such as zills or veil. The level will be adv.beg/intermediate.
So I'm having some trouble figuring out what to call the second class. I don't want to call it a choreograpy class since we may not do a choreography every session and I think that might scare some people off. I could just go with "Level 2" I guess but I'm wondering if I can come up with something better.
Any ideas?

Re: Naming a new class
Bellydance Topics could work!
I definitely want to keep away from using "performance" in the title though.

Re: Naming a new class
I like Bellydance Topics, right now I have classes called:
Belly Dance Basics
Belly Dance Essentials
(I had a Belly Dance Fundamentals, but I'm not teaching that right now)
Belly Dance Technique and Musicality
And they have worked very nicely for me, distinguishing the focus of the classes slightly, not pinning a strict level on it (which I'm finding inappropriate for these classes) and allowing me the flexibility to cover what I feel needs to be covered in each of these classes and change it as I go along.
You are welcome to use any of these titles if they work for you. Topics is a good one though... I like topics.

Re: Naming a new class
Funnily enough, you new format is really very similar to what I'm doing in my classes right now.

umm i think "bellydance topics" may be a bit odd as a title...its very general...for instance you could be reaching literally anything bellydance related under that heading...

Re: Naming a new class
Where I come from that would be called Improvers, but it would involve some technique building on the beginner stuff, with layering etc, usually to be used in combos or choreo.
