I just had two workshops with Tamalyn Dallal and they left me wanting more.
Amel Tafsout, she is a magic woman.
Leila Haddad, very wonderful technique and energy.

Re: Dream Teacher
Oh I'd love to take a workshop with Aziza.
If I could take home one of the teachers I have already had a one off workshop with, it would be Sashi, she is too much fun, I'd love to have regular lessons with her.

Re: Dream Teacher
One of the pioneers of dance in the US is Aida. She studied with Jamilia Salimpour. Aida is now based in Detroit, no one can do a Turkish like her. Plus she's a master musician.
Again she's in Detroit, here is her site.
aida
Most people don't realize that Detroit has the largest Middle Eastern population in the U.S....the second largest in the world, only lead by the middle east itself.
Dancers here are purely authentic in their Arabic dance because the Middle Eastern audiences here demands it.
Check us out sometime! :O)

Re: Dream Teacher
I would love to participate in Sahra Saeeda's Journey Through Egypt Workshop series. I've heard great things about JtE 1 & 2. Another teacher I would love to learn from would be Aziza.

I'd love to learn from Soheir Zaki!
My favorite teacher is Cory Zamora, and while I haven't yet taken classes from her, Cassandra Shore is very nice.

Artemis, Aziza and Mira Betz.
Luckily I plan on taking weeklong intensives with both Artie and Mira this year. Yay!
I missed out on Aziza's though. ..cr.: Apparently, if you are not in with the In Crowd, you can't attend.

Orit. Aziza.
Two teachers who seem to turn out a lot of lovely dancers: Raqia Hassan and Yasmin (Serpentine).

Re: Dream Teacher
For me, one of my favorite workshop instructors and performers is Virginia of Miami. I hope I would feel the same way today as I felt then - it was almost three years ago now - but I remember just really enjoying her teaching style, what she taught being so informative, challenged by the complexity but loved that she gave individual attention - and her performance persona is so... personable!

Tito's my hero!!!
and of course Orit Maftsir...I have to restrain myself from copying every thing she does...I loooove her! I don't think she does workshops in the US...or performances...I only hear of them in europe and canada for some reason...any one know why that is?
