An unexpected opportunity has arisen for me to take a private lesson with Mohamed Shahin this weekend ..g.:..g.:

I was wondering if anyone who has studied with him has any recommendations on what I should ask him to teach? I'm currently planning technique, technique, technique, but if anyone has another idea I'd love to hear it.

Technique, technique, technique sounds about right. I think I would ask for technique and combinations :)

I havent studied with him - but I know him a bit :) If you're into Saiidi - he's an excellent source for that as well.

Technique, especially traveling steps, presentation (expression, upper body angles etc). Let us know how it goes!

ooooo you are gonna have so much fun! He did a couple of workshops in Chicago last year and his Saidi was kickass. Good luck!

I love Mo. I have taken a few workshops with him. He is great for combos, technique and a great source for saidi. Have fun!

Well, my lesson went very well, he's very good at spotting the little things and making very minor adjustments that make all the difference. Just the way I like my private lessons to be, so I'm very happy. He says hi to Norma & the Chicago gang, he'll see you all in April, and yes, he is sponsoring a trip to Egypt this year :)

IN APRIL??????? I better get ahold of Alexandria. Usually the Chicago workshop is in June, but the last time I talked to her it was going to be Sept. or Oct. I guess that didn't fit in his schedule.

Thanks for mentioning me to Mo. He did email me back about Egypt. Now I better ask him about Chicago.

damn.... I better start working extra hours because I need to go to his workshops again. This april you say?

Anyway, yes, he said April, but then he didn't look 100% sure, so yeah, email him to double check ..g.:

Okay, I checked with Alexandria. Nothing is confirmed yet. But so far, it appears as if he is coming to Chicago the last weekend of April. Because of the short notice, she will not be able to do the big showcase like last year, but MO will be doing a workshop and he will be performing at Al Hambra on Saturday night.

Once everything is confirmed I'll post the details.

We are still hoping he can come in October as originally planned but there may be a scheduling issue.
