    different choo choo shimmy help

I'm used to doing a choo choo shimmy with the hips going up and down. But I'd like to know how Orit does what looks like a side to side/thigh/Egyptian shimmy with the choo choo. My problem is that I have a hard time going the Egyptian shimmy on high toes, but I can do it, but really when I try to move across my floor it sounds like an earthquake! I cant make it light and floaty like my other choo choo, really I can hardy move gracefully

Here is Orit doing it at about 4:15

Don't have any advice, but just wanted to say -- fabulous performance. Strange costume.

Wow, what a performance ! It is a strange costume, but it does accentuate her brilliant undulations. Very original.

Well. I WANT that dress. And that body.

I would say the trick here is that she's not doing an Egyptian shimmy on top of the choochoo - her legs are quite straight throughout. She really is doing a little bourree with the feet and just scooting about. What makes it particularly groovy for me is the way she has tucked and pulled her hips back.

Toria, this move would look awesome on you. My buddy and I were discussing what a rad tush you have...

I do a similar scooting choo-choo - it has a nice floaty effect although it's not nearly as graceful as Orit's (go figure!). I make sure I never take my feet off the ground, and I keep the feet and legs very close together. It also helps to imagine really pulling up from your sternum, which (to quote Mirah Ammal from this weekend) gets your weight up out of the floor.

Those Emans would make any butt look good but they are fantastic on dancers who already have fabulous bums!

That looks like the choochoo shimmy I do as well...never let your feet off the floor and just scoot around, feet very close together.
