ISO Drum Music for Classes
I'm looking for drumming music for my classes that are basically 3-5min clips that focus on one rhythm with moderate tempo for the rhythm being played.
I want to keep it simple, but I want more than just someone banging out the basic rhythm. I don't want something that sounds amateur.
Any ideas?

Re: ISO Drum Music for Classes
Helm has a bunch of CDs, Mark Bell is an excellent drummer. They are called Tribal (because they were recorded for FCBD initially), but work well for all branches of bellydance. I like that the drumming is interesting, without being "too much". On iTunes and payplay, so you can pick the tracks you like.

In the "Misc" section of BellydanceDownloads.com, I've included several rhythm-focused albums: Miscellaneous

I like Solace's Rhythm of the Dance CD because the tracks are long and slow. It only covers a few rhythms, though, and not the common Egyptian ones.
I also LOVE Uncle Mafufuo's 25 rhythms CD -- in fact, it's probably my very favorite.

I use Solace Rhythm of the Dance & Helm. Both are nice, richly embellished, yet distinctly percussive.

Re: ISO Drum Music for Classes
May I suggest my Pulse of the Sphinx album done by the Henkesh brothers? It has most of the well known Egyptian rhythms, an instructional track and 6 drill tracks of some of the lesser known rhythms. The booklet has all the rhythms broken down into musical notation, a history of drums in Egypt and various shimmy instruction.
