Thread: Good Source for Bulk Canes?

Is there such a thing? I want to start teaching a little assaya, but I only have a few, and my students don't have their own. I'd love to find a place that'll give me a bulk discount.

When I was working with canes for my students and needed loaners and ones to sell, I bought a bunch from DeeDee of Little Egypt. I can't quite remember what I paid, but she definitely gave me a decent bulk discount.

Cheap skate here I use bamboo garden gardens cut to required length. If you select the correct size, it costs very littl. I had bought 4 little canes from ebay , left them at the church hall where I taught and they have walked by the time I went to collect them! The bamboos are still there!

For class, I just get wooden dowels from Home Depot and cut them to size. I think I pay $0.59 per dowel.

For performance canes, I ordered mine from Turquoise International and they gave me a discount (I think it was $8 per cane as opposed to $10 per cane).

Ah yeah...seconding Scheherzade, but she was out when I needed them! Normally she has lots on stock. DeeDee came through, though.

In the DIY mode, you can also get white PVC pipe and different color electrical tape to make your own thicker mens style sticks.

I get mine from Dahlal, she offers a teacher discount when you buy in quantity. But I'm very lucky that I don't have to pay for shipping!

You can check your local party or costume store. I get mine at earls party supply in tulsa for 4 dollars each. you can use them as is, or cover them with ribbon or sequins.

Make sure you sand the dowel first!
