    Need a new boom box...

    Argh!

I bought this $2 boombox at a yardsale 5 years ago and it has never failed me. Yesterday, I opened the door and down it went onto the ground.

So, needless to say, I need a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions (Under $60) for a good, loud, cd player?

    Thanks!

I bought a Sony a few years ago at Costco that works well. It has a big red so-called "subwoofer" in the middle (that I usually turn off, music's too boomy otherwise), but it works well and is loud. Plays CDs and tapes too.

If you can get up to Hermon, you can have my old one. It's small, I forget the brand, ugly (has a big dent on one side) but it's never failed me. Cost $30 at Sam's about 5 years ago. I no longer use it since I got my Nano pod and Bose system.

    Have you tried
http://www.freecycle.org/ You put your town and zip code they will tell you the ones nearest you.

One main rule: everything posted must be free. This group is part of The Freecycle Network, a nonprofit organization and a movement of people interested in keeping good stuff out of landfills. Check out freecycle.org for other cities and info on the movement!

I have received sewing machines, Canes, fabric, work table. ..g.: I have them for when my friends need to fix a costume or what not. We would do a night once a month to work on it, It would be like a fun night.

I am sure if you post for a boombox you might be lucky..
