eat lots of pizza, burritos, chocolate, bread, french fries
wait one week.
do regular shimmies.
your new belly fat will vibrate along :)
seriously, i don't think i could write something that could explain properly
live teacher or video would probably be best.
that didn't help at all. sorry.
hope someone else can tell you in writing.
10-03-2007 02:40 PM #3Do you mean stomach flutters? Usually that's done with a breath technique that engages the diaphragm, it's like panting, but the throat is closed and the abdominal muscles are relaxed. With enough practice you'll gain more control, and you should be able to do it just manipulating the diaphragm without needing to close your throat.

I've never figured out how to "close my throat".
good to know that the eventual goal is to do it without closing your throat - maybe some day I'll be able to flutter despite my inability to stop breathing.

For flutters I take a lung full of air and then just breath at the top
- otherwise your flutter life will be short without oxygen. But if you pant - you'll hyper-ventilate and get dizzy.
For most people, the breathing technique is a refinement - what you need to be able to do to start with is control your diaphragm. If you are naturally a full lung breather ie your belly expands as you breath in it isn't usually too hard. Start with a big slow bounce - say push out twice a second, then make it smaller and faster.
Once you have control look to your breathing. ..g.:

try saying "ho, ho, ho, ho" (Santa-style) out loud, and watch what your stomach does. Like everyone else has said, you can control and refine the breathing and muscle movements to just move without the words.
