what the hey-ho is a Modern Zar??

So, I'm going over my old notes from an Ansuya workshop to teach to my students. The problem is it's been 5 years and I obviously don't remember some of it. But some of these notes I can't make heads or tails of.

Modern Zar - vertical dwn/out hip clocks (audience first)

    Camel Switch Back - (camel L foot, L arm @ chest, R out @ 1/2 'W', switch back R/L w/hip twist, switch arms)

'Arm circles' - I must have missed these. ..c::

I have watched nearly every Ansuya youtube video out there and I can't find anything that matches whatever any of this means!!

A convenient name for a combination, I imagine.

    Not a zar.

Oh no, I know it's not a zar by any means. I just don't understand her lingo.

The Modern Zar is like a Nefertiti, only with more Fez thrown into it, but not as much as a Turkish Taffy.

Seriously, this is why I don't take a lot of notes at workshops. By the time I want to refer back to what I wrote, I can't make sense of it. I imagine this move might be a head toss that rolled down the body, done from different orientations and started facing the audience, but I am totally guessing. Have you tried e-mailing Ansuya?

One of the funniest things I've seen lately; thanks!

I haven't taken with Ansuya, but this part I think I've seen her do -- Does it read like this? ... Rock back on L foot with an undulation/camel while your L arm is crossed in front/at chest level and your R arm is out to the side bent with your elbow slightly down. Switch feet - rock back on R w/ undulation (etc) and use opposite arms (R @ chest, L out and bent)

Does that make sense, or was it what you were asking?

Also -- I've seen similar things in combination with the hair toss and/or with the step-together-step (cha-cha-cha) foot pattern.

Yes! Sounds very similar if not the same thing!

Awesome. I think the Turkish Taffy really is something someone somewhere made up. The thing is they were Ansuya's notes and not mine. I did try emailing her last night but I have a feeling she won't be answering soon.
