Hi Lovely dancers,

Below interview was recorded at the Bellydance Festival in the Netherlands "From Cairo with Love" organised by Amira Ates - Oriental Princesses.

The interview is with DR. MO GEDDAWI, RANDA KAMEL AND AMIRA ATES for Radio Netherlands Worldwide, and was broadcasted in all Arab countries.

The interviewer was questioning Randa, Dr. Mo and me on the below statement:

"In recent years, belly dancing has spread a... lot in Western societies. Western women see in this dance as a means to rediscover their femininity . Not that this is contrary to the popular reputation of belly dancing in the Arab world where it is still seen as "a kind of pornography to entertain the men."

I don't have a translation yet but as soon as I have it I will post it here.

Please feel free to spread this interview via Facebook and twitter as it is in a way "ground breaking". According to Dr. Mo Geddawi, the interview is a good contribution to improvement of the image of belly dance in the Arab world.

The interviewer mentioned to me that this was one of his best reportage and he received a lot of "moral" awards for it in the Arab world.
