Thread: This was too fun not to share

My seniors daytime class has really wanted to learn to play zills over the last few years. The problem is we have people oil and acrilyic painting on the other side of a thin divider wall and I didn't want them complaining about the noise. They haven't grumbled too much over the music over the years but ocasionally you get a cranky one. So I have not taught zills in the daytime before.

Over the summer the city built a walking path up to the top of the hill towards the Ocean to Ocean bridge. It also meets up with the road to the Gateway park at the top....a perfect walking loop if your playing zills. Today was our first "field trip" for warm-ups. It was soo much fun! The gals were laughing and giggling and the cars going by were doing double takes. Wish I had thought of this ages ago!!!!!

I gotta try this! My night classes have actually attracted the police.

I was told that going for a walk along the beach was the perfect way to practice you zills. i get to play and no humans or animals are frightened! this also works along the many LA River walks.

When I first started belly dancing, we were in the dance room at Culver City High School. It backed onto the yard and as it was summer, we had the windows open. Some one inevitably would walk by and start to sing Jingle bells when we played!
