Thread: The things kids say...

I have a 6 year old student. She wanted to do a dance in our Hafla to "Apologize" by One Republic. How cute. I was going to use her as the opening act.

So I ask her and what does she say? "She can't fit it into her schedule"

maybe her people can call your people, do lunch and work something out!

That is too cute! I laughed when I read that last line. Seems to me she's already a bellydancing star!

My 5 year old niece was staying at my mom's house on a night I had to dance at my restaurants. Before I changed into my costume, my niece was admiring my sparkly costume (as little girls do since it's Princesswear), so I asked if she wanted to try it on over her clothes. I but the bra over her head and held the belt on her so she could see. I jokingly said "well, it ALMOST fits, right Isabelle?" She looked down at the bra cups and then looked at me and said "Hmmm. Maybe when I'm 18." LOL!!! I don't know where she got that "magic adult number" of 18. I'm sure from her mom who says she can do adult things when she turns 18. But it totally caught me off guard! She's a riot.

I teach little girls, and always love to interact with the children when I dance at parties. At one such event, the little girls were following me around, and danced with me (which was a blast) during part of my performance. When it was time for me to go, one of the little girls asked me if I was going to take
"that" with me, pointing to my costume (I was in one of my favorite costumes, with lots of iridescent lavendar beads). I said "yes," laughing.. She said, "Oh, I thought you were borrowing it..." and I could see the disappointment... oh, she was so hoping I would leave that outfit at the party...

That is CUTE! I was performing at a private event once in a White costume and this young girl comes ripping around the corner almost wrecking into me. She looks up with her jaw dropped and says to me "are you the Virgin Mary", I almost busted up....No dear I'm just her friend....Te He....
