I just wanted to get this out of my system:

I'M GOING TO STUDY WITH FATEN SALAMA!!

I'm so excited... she's right here in Manassas, VA, the place I would have never thought to see bellydance again when I moved here. Thank goodness my area is building up! I wonder how Stauton, VA is going to be when I move there...,f:: .

How much is she charging for the Manassas classes these days? It's going to be $30 for 90 minutes for the new session in Arlington.

I love Faten. I've been studying with her on and off for years, starting when she was still living in Egypt and came through the DC area once a year for a workshop. And I recently had a chance to take a master class with her that was so inspiring -- lots of new ideas, cute combinations, etc.

And yup, she's the Egyptian Energizer Bunny! More energy than all her students put together!

oh - you are in for SUCH a treat!! if i could still manage to get to her classes, i would be there in a redhot minute.

She is amazing. I had taken several classes and privates with her a while ago and saw her again this past week in Egypt. You are going to learn so much from her.

Not sure if there's any belly dancing in Staunton VA but there is good Shakespeare! I think I do remember some belly dance class ads from the local free paper.

Really cool news: the curriculum has expanded this session to include a tribal track in addition to oriental. There are brush-up workshops in oriental technique this Thursday and Sunday; regular classes start this coming Monday. Come dance with us!
