Thread: Starting classes with Faten Sunday!

My classes with Faten Salama start this Sunday! I'm so excited...and nervous. Don't know what to expect. I've been so busy lately that I've haven't been warming up or practicing, so I will be "cramming" today, trying not to hurt myself. I finally found some trustworthy dance shoes, btw (for those who know the forum I posted about dance shoes!).

Anyone here on Bhuz taking classes with her in the Manassas, VA area?

I'm envious, and happy for you! I have only taken 1 workshop from her 2 years ago and have a couple of dvds, and yet she is on my short list of "favorite dancers."

You'll have a wonderful time! Faten is delightful and SO talented!!

Feedback--

Invigorating. Absolutely invigorating. At first I was nervous because this was first time in that class, but I jumped right in. Wow, opened up my eyes. I need some improvement in a few areas, but Faten has pointed them out and is going to work with me. I'm really enjoying it so far. Hopefully, I'll see some of you at her workshops, and the big one with Raqia Hassan in Maryland in April. I plan on attending them.

I just had my first class in the new series with Faten; I was out of town over the President's Day weekend. It was so great: Faten embodies the joy of the dance! She is pure communicable bliss! (I love teachers whose class are mostly dance! That's what it's all about, in my opinion.)

Faten drills us & corrects us; it's in the context of lovely combos and terrific musicality. It adds up to fabulous FUN and INSPIRATION while learning!

Which location, Manassas or Claredon (may not be spelled right)? Some other location?
