they're really pretty but I fear something that big at the bottom would make me look *even shorter*. I always feel like I am slumming it in my exercise gear. My joggie bottoms get torn up on my bike, covered in mud, and everything black goes grey in the end.

Antimony - buy them! You know you want to

Antimony -- it's not about need, baby. It's about those giant hemlines swirling around you while you practice......g.:

I want those pants! But from the looks of it, it is only available in fushia in all sizes. The blue is out. Sad.

    speaking of pants...

    Lauren, thanks for posting!

Speaking of pants... It seems as though a year ago (or longer) you posted a message on bhuz with a link to a different web site (not Marika) that you described as being the place where people who do yoga go when they want to buy cool pants. Do you happen to remember which web site that was? I'd love to see the link again!

This site has some really funky pants! On the pricey side, but I suppose they all are.

Good memory, Shira! www.balidog.com -- the site has grown, but it's the Buddha pants that were killer, IIRC.

I've found that shelling out the money for quality pants means that they are going to last me much longer. Between teaching so many aerobic classes a week, they need to stand up to heavy washing and drying, they hold shapte better, color better and just last longer and look better than the cheap kind 9which I still buy ..cr.: )

I decided to reawaken the "cool pants" thread again because I just discovered a vendor on ebay that has tempted me beyond my ability to resist. I bought these in blue: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320148708558

I've bought from Holyclothing before, about five years ago. Good stuff. The fabric is a little thin though.

I just went to www.balidog.com and ordered three pairs of pants from the Buddha collection.

I already have a reputation among my yoga class for wearing wild pants to class. (Mostly straight-legs from Phoenix Rising at http://www.phoenixrisingartists.com/catalog/index.php but I've also worn a pair of MeloPhoenix.) I'm not kidding when I say I have this reputation - two weeks ago, I was having Sunday brunch with my in-laws at their retirement community. My brother-in-law spotted a couple of friends from across the room and went over to talk to them. When he came back, he informed me that his friends had asked, "Who is that woman you were sitting next to?" When he said who I was, they said, "Oh, we recognize her - she's in our yoga class. She's the one who always wears the wild pants to class."

I'm ready for my fall yoga class - I have 2 pairs of Geisha Moth pants they haven't seen yet, 4 pairs of MeloPhoenix they haven't seen yet, and soon I'll have 3 pairs of BaliDogs! Hey, if my yoga poses look like crap (which they do), at least I'll be doing them in fashionable garb!

Josy, I bought some of those a couple of weeks ago, love love LOVE them. They fit insanely low on the hip for my taste, I'm considering taking a little of the vertical elastic out of the rise. Super long & swishy sexy yummy, though, they totally remind me of Nourhan pants.

Oh, I'm so glad to hear this - I've been watching this seller for a while, but a bit nervous since I didn't know anyone who had bought from them. Outside of how low they are, how is the fit? The fabric? Satisfied overall?

Very satisfied. I'm getting ready to buy more.

The fabric is thin, but reasonably sturdy. The fit is just a little on the smallish size (I'm a 10 & bought the L) but OK. The fit & the fabric remind me very much of Sharifwear pants....

I'm wondering about the inseam. Is this a bit like Melodias where you count on your booty to take up some of the length? And if not, how easy do you think it would be to hem these?

Well, there's no trim on the bottom, so if you're a good enough seamstress to handle slinky fabrics, it would be simple enough.

Now I'm wondering whether they're finished on the bottom at all, I'll have to look.

Just got the salsa pants and I love them! They're the ones with the "wrap-around" sheer cutouts. Very flattering and the fit's pretty good. I think I could get away with not taking them up ( thank goodness for booty), and that way they'll still look good with heels at a salsa club...
I need to stop buying crap when I'm not dancing much these days but those pants are so tempting...
