they look AMAZING!! I am glad the hip hop one is not a lot of jumping, I don't think that would be for me and my knees, but the floaty smooth kind of hip hop dancing . LOVE IT!!
I'm lucky they come out around my birthday.. I know what I'm doing with money gifts hehe!

i'm not particularly crazy for burlesque but that 'silk & feathers, burlesque dance fan' video looks fun!!

Hi, Zana - ! The trailer for Silk & Feathers: Burlesque Fan Dance will be happening soon - ! I will be at The Slipper Room here in Manhattan filming the last portion of the DVD with the great Jo Weldon tomorrow - but all the choreographic work is already filmed and well along in editing. In fact it will be done this week, and I would expect a trailer quickly thereafter, and the DVD in your hands by the end of April.

The other big news from here is the imminent arrival of our next performance DVD, Fantasy Bellydance, (click this link to see the cover of that DVD), also shipping at the end of April. Details and trailer to follow soon for this cavalcade of stars doing unusual performances -- and omigod what a beautiful production, you have never seen anything like it on a bellydance DVD.

This new Fantasy Bellydance performance DVD is not to be confused with Fantasy Bellydance: Magic...Fantasy Bellydance: Mystery...and Fantasy Bellydance: Desire. Those three are all terrific intermediate-level instructional DVDs, each one featuring three artists - including favorites like Blanca, Autumn Ward, Sera, Ariellah, Neon, Ayshe, and Darshan (scroll down from this link to learn about any of our artists).

That's great news.

I don't want to rain on your parade but........the last 2 WDNY dvds that I bought (The Baladi one and Autumn Ward's dvd) skip and freeze during play. This occurs in both my dvd players. I decided not to make a fuss about it but what if it happens again with these new dvds too? What is the policy regarding this?

Thanks for bringing this up Rosemarie. I'm proud to say that we replace any 'bad' DVDs immediately - just write to me personally at scott@worlddancenewyork.com and I will work out the return.

Indeed a tiny percentage of 'baddies' does occur. But the main culprit tends to be DVD players. As manufacturers make players cheaper, quality declines such that some players cannot adjust for tiny variations in disk structure. This is 'the difference' between a high-quality DVD player and a poor one.

Also: Even the best DVD players do 'wear out. The laser reading device, which has to zoom around inside the player, gets old and loosens...the laser-head's movement joint literally rusts if there is humidity, etc. Bit by bit, it breaks down.

So if your DVD is not playing perfectly, sure I will send you a new one, but if this continues to occur, you should consider replacing the players involved.

One thing to try right away is to put the DVD in a computer and see how it plays there. Computer-housed DVD players are the same as the ones in a stand-alone device, but they are better-housed and usually do not get the same 'workout' that a lightweight stand-alone DVD player receives. For this reason they are often in much better condition. Trying a DVD in a computer can be an easy way to 'prove' whether the DVD is at fault.

So excited. My order from World Dance New York was in my mailbox waiting for me when I came home from work tonight. I can't believe how how fast I recieved it.
As soon as I get a little free time I will be checking the Hip Hop Fusion and the the other three DVDs I ordered.

I had Anasma's in the mail box yesterday!
Yesterday was the day it was originally meant to ship out (one week prior to the release date - already a bonus for pre-orders) - I still think it's a miracle I HAD it at that date.
Or as you say jazzybd - amazing service.

WDNY must have a great delivery partner/options, and this at ZERO cost even for international buyers. (Why again did I bother to wait up to 6 weeks for around 20 dollars shipping cost with amazon before?!)

I watched Anasma's bellydance => hip hop dvd so far. GREAT stuff not to be found on any other dvd. She does basic bellydance moves, but alters them already towards hip hop immediately so that they have a completely different look. Pretty funky, this stuff!! looks like sooo much fun!

but when do you think we could expect a little preview for LOVE POTION? I am dying to see it.. or get a tiny glimpse of the music and movement in it.. sorry could not help it :)
