For US customers, when you look at our DVD prices, well at first they don't look so low. We are the manufacturer so we list the 'manufacturer's suggested retail price.' The "2+" discount of 30%-off becomes visible only AFTER you put the second and subsequent DVDs into the shopping cart. Then you will see that you are getting a very low total price.

For dancers outside the US, our "American" pricing is already 'low' for you even without a further discount, just because of the way DVDs tend to be priced outside the USA (higher!). Regarding the free shipping to Europe, Asia, and Latin America, the answer is yes, I hope I can make that a permanent feature of World Dance New York direct sales to the public.

Hey I have a little 'oopsie' to report - we're still getting the websites 'set,' and unfortunately during the past 18 hours (from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon, November 28-29, 2008) many of the links on our new international website were mistakenly connected to the domestic shopping cart, making it impossible for dancers outside the US to select their "ship-to" country.

This has been fixed now.

So true I would just like to say.
I used to order from the US despite extremely high shipping charged by amazon, and it was still cheaper than the Eurpean prices from Germany, the border being about 3 hours by car from where I live :)
Given the current favourable USD-EUR exchange rate we actually do still get a discount ,r:;

Oh my! I just ordered two new dvds: that makes 15 of the belly dance how to's (you list 30), plus 2 of the Flamenco and 3 of the BD performance dvds I now own from WDNY.

this may be a stupid question but, are the dvds 'watchable' in Europe? there isn't the whole zone/format issue? (that's the only thing holding me back from buying half your stock lol ^^ well, that and cash...)

haha I bought more than half the stock before even knowing!! that s because on a computer you can play every dvd anyway.
I have also tried on a dvd player/TV set and they worked (I tried only one or two so far, though, as I m using the computer primarily..)

yeah but you can only change zones a limited number of times i think...
but anyhoo, i think it's the format that's more the question.. does it say what the format is anywhere on the dvd?

Khatiya I don't have any problem to read the DVDs, I'll have to check (or Scott will tell you) but I think they are "all zones".

I know the zones can be changed only 5 times I think.
But I never had to change time zones for the WDNY dvds - this might be the case for US format only dvds (which WDNY in my opinion cannot be as it plays fine without changing options - btw, like all the other bellydance dvds I have from IAMED to Cheeky Girls, but also single instructors like Amira or Shamira, never required me to change zone either.. my guess is producers would have to actively put a "locking mechanism" on the dvd, which I guess would be costly and unreasonable, but I am no expert, just a dvd collector who can share this experience :) )

Ya I m watching it again and again!
yesterday I felt a bit "humbled" by the level I thought it would be upon first watching it - like maybe a bit difficult for me as someone with no jazz nor classical dance experience.
but watching it again I am super curious for it and feel it is something one could grow into.
Maybe this one is able to fill my "shortcomings" that might stem precisely from my lack in jazz or ballet instruction as a child: like my clumsy arms, and inability to transfer from one leg to the other when doing travelling movements in one direction and then switch to the other side, or my inability to let the undulation in a camel move go down to the feet and "stroke" the floor..

I am SO looking forward to this dvd. Looks like it can teach me a couple of crucial things I am simply not grasping so far, and it could be great inspiration.

As for the outfit: I am so looking forward to doing this in summer! i never dared to dance without pants even in my living room coz i felt "incomplete". This summer with great pride I ll be dancing along Autumn in a pareo and bikini top

Yes, Dina, both of the Ranya Renee DVDs (one of which is a double) and the Autumn Ward are available for pre-order now. I think I will be able to ship out Autumn's DVD to you around January 15th, and Ranya's probably a month after that.

Kathiya thank for asking your question about the 'watchability' of our DVDs outside the US. It is a good and important question. This is the issue of "regions" on DVDs. I won't bore you with why there are regions (which prevent US DVDs from being played on DVD players that are 'set' for Europe) but suffice it to say that at World Dance New York all our DVDs are set for Region #0, which means they will play on any "NTSC" or "multisystem" DVD player, anywhere in the world. So basically this means that Sylvie is correct: World Dance New York does not do "regions" - our DVDs are "regionless"...so they will play anywhere.

Amity thanks for the sweet words about Ranya Renee - I know she will appreciate them.

Rosemarie thanks for posting your post about "a lot of info for a few $$, what a deal!" - that really warms my heart to see you say that because as I discussed above, that is what we are all about here. That is what we try to do most of all: Better and better DVDs at the lowest possible price.
