Thread: Yasmina Ramzy Instructionals

Does anyone have these. Do you reccomend them at all. I saw a preview of one of them on youtube and it looked pretty good.

I have her Movement Foundation, Technique 1 and Technique 2 and Choreography 3 DVDs. Yasmina is a great teacher and I do recommend these videos. Well, I can't really say anything about the choreo one- I received a deal for buying multiples and I had to buy a choreo dvd to get the deal and I haven't viewed it yet. I heard it is difficult. Also, I only viewed Movement Foundation once, since it goes over basic technique, and then I have been loaning it out. Which ones in particular are you interested in?

I think these are the best instructional DVDs from any ones I've seen (and I have quite a few :) Yasmina has great analogies that really help to understand the concepts. My favorite one is her Vol II devoted to variations with 3/4 shimmies.

The choreo ones are diverse, fun, and of varying levels. Vol III has an extremely challenging drum solo. I still don't dare to tackle it.

Yep... I have all of Yasmina's videos and they're fabulous. Like Ameera, I have a slew of videos, but Yasmina's are definitely high on the favorites list. Her technique is very well executed and described - both attainable and challenging.

I agree with the other posters, Yasmina's dvds are good quality instuction. She is very clear in her instructions. The Movement Foundation, Technique 1 are the easier, definitely something a beginner or someone new to Yasmina's style. The other ones do get harder which I believe are more for intermediate dancers and above.

These are definitely worth getting. I have one of the choreo dvds and it is so full of content. I have ordered the technique dvd's because no one locally is willing to part with any of her stuff! I picked mine up on a whim after an instructor brought some back from a trip to Toronto and could not say enough about her.
