hi everybody!!

my hoop from hoopgirl arrived a couple of days ago.
my husband and i got into it after seeing "hudsucker" - the corporate malfeasance movie, where a seemingly not-so-bright junior manager surprisingly gets the company back on track with inventing the hoop. a young boy hoops like crazy in it.

that s how hubby caught fire, i had wanted to try it ever since i saw the world dance new york trailer:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOVCgcgLhGA]YouTube - THE HOOP DANCE WORKOUT :: Christabel Zamor! :: WorldDanceNewYork.com :: Free Shipping Worldwide![/ame]

Now the hoop arrived in Europe after 2 weeks (made upon order), in excellent condition (collapsed and well packaged). We tried it yesterday, and could each hoop for a couple of minutes after a few tries (10 to 15 min). None of us could do it as a kid, so we were positively surprised.
Seems to be because hoopgirls hoops are weighted and meant for adults.

It is great fun, and quite a bit of a workout even without the dvd I ordered some days ago from WDNY directly.
Just from trying to hoop on my own, I can say it seems excellent for toning the belly area, especially that hard-to-train lower back area and the waistline, have i said it s really fun to do it??? ..l;,

we cant wait for the workout to arrive to reeaally make us sweat.

from what i ve tried I d recommend it to bellydancers for it trains the waist area in a fun way, and to my impression it could complement bellydance activity nicely (like I think the reason I can do it now mostly is bellydancing a bit through my young adult years - my husband might have a predisposition too due to mideastern dances :) )

so i hope that is of interest to you!
take care
