Thread: Ranya's Baladi

I'm so excited! Mine came in the mail last night, but I'm too busy to try it out and I'm off to Aziza all weekend.

Any reviews? I'll post mine as soon as I can!

Is this the video where she shows you three choreos? If so, I want to get it too.

Fotia, she shows you three live improvisations - the beledi is not about choreos. She doesn't teach a choreography - she teaches about the structure of the music, the feeling of the beledi, bellydance movements for each section of the music, and then how to improvise. She really emphasizes that the beledi should be improvised.

I really like it, very informative about rhythms, structure of the baladi, posture. She explains movements appropriate to the different parts of the music and I particularly like the arm path drill.

I saw another thread about this and it seems like everybody is really excited about it. Now I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks for your helpful information, Nepenthe.
