Thread: Faten Munger, Faten Salama

Hello guys!

I've got recommendations on these two teachers some time ago. I know they have instructional dvds. Now by coincidence I came across Faten Salama again, and now would like to ask here:

Does anyone here own these ladies' instructionals? how do you like them? are they different to the much exposed mainstream ones in content?

I study with her here in Manassas, VA, and I have several of her DVDs also. If you have no problem with following along, you'll love her DVDs. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't use explanations. She prefers to show you more than tell you. Does that make sense? She has a very unique, interesting combinations. The are VERY different from mainstream. They are self-produced, like the Little Egypt ones. I love her as a dancer, teacher, and professional, and that translates into how I like her DVDs (so I have some bias).

It depends also on what you want to get from these DVDs? What do you like from DVDs? What are you looking for? What is your learning style?

which Faten are you referring to ?? or is she one person (marriage?)?? I love to "follow the bouncing butt". does not mean I can do everything, but I like to just follow along. And I am definitely looking for some variety, movements other than the ones featured and repeated in the mainstream videos!!
which of her videos do you like best? how many are there??

Let me get back to you on the DVDs. I haven't been online and I have a show to prepare for tonight. But she has probably 15 DVDs out total. I only have (and had) maybe 5?
