Thread: Ballet for Bellydancers

I received one of the first copies of this dvd, and it s a really great one!
I have problems with one foot, so I cannot start on the workout itself.
i did the warmup though, very thorough and many things I have never seen before. I am guessing it will be a classic or maybe modified ballet warmup.
As for the rest of the dvd: I think it s a great great dvd just from watching it!!!
Can't wait to do it.

What I like best: Brianna shows you (what I as a layperson think are) real ballet moves, and then gives you options to orientalize the look. If you have a chance to watch her performance on one of the BDFD dvds, she moves from flat foot in a circular motion to on the toes and back on flat foot again with her shoulder shimmies. The move looks great in her costume where the feet are concealed by the long skirt.
So she teaches such moves and combinations - a really fresh look in bellydance moves, ballet elegance brought into it, and even if you dont perform them, I think the strength and posture benefits will be worth giving the dvd a try!!!

I've looked at the clip on Amazon and placed an order. It does look good.

I've been sick and haven't been able to do much of the dvd, but I agree with Dina. I've previewed enough of it to know that I will enjoy it when I'm better. I was worried that it would be a ballet dvd with some bellydance flavor and it's not. It is what it says it is.

I love love love the combo's. The exercises in the beginning are the only thing I would change- her cue's come too little to late! Also The first half of the dvd she is barefoot, then later on shes wearing clunky boots- which make it hard to see her feet and legs.

Arrghh, I tried to get it from amazon and they're out of stock ..cr.:

Yay! I'm so glad at the positive response this DVD has gotten so far. We are really proud of it.

FYI - The tribe discount is only for titles starring me or that are exclusively sold by me (like Secrets of the Stage). I can't do discounts of titles featuring other dancers because sometimes I have "no undercutting" clauses in our agreements.

But Amazon should be all stocked up within a day or so. You can still place an order, it just means the shipping will be delayed for a few days.

Ooops sorry - I did not want this to come out in such a misleading way.
I always get a couple of dvds at a time from Michelle when I order to save on shipping costs - so if there s both Michelle's and other featured dancers' dvds in the package you order you get the tribal discount on Michelle's only.. which still saves you a lot. And shipping rates are really flat btw - 4$ for the first, and 1$ for every other, internationally. Really good prices compared with amazon and the likes...

Thanks for the reviews.... I'm ordering my copy now from Amazon. So often, I get caught up with hips, chest and undulations and not the footwork, turns and posture. I think this will bring things together.

I do want to try this DVD.

that sounds like a move ive seen the classic egyptian belly dancers do
