WDNY seem to really be coming out with some really high quality productions and really filling the gaps in the market where there are no well priced and long enough DVDs on certain topics.

Well done on that you give us nice long trailers so we can actually really sample the DVD properly and not just see 5 secs clips at random all added together.

Scott, WDNY's instructional DVDs are officially the reason I'm going broke!

Oh me too.. I have about all of them except for some of the other world dance (flamenco etc) ones. Love them all!
Now if I ever found the time to DO them all I'd be a pro :))

I so agree on the EXCELLENT trailers. See, I ve bought practically every WDNY dvd based on those long trailers.. how come some other production companies still produce 1 min trailers only?? It s not giving away secrets, 4 or 5 min is not the entire dvd.. except for, with some 35 min videos (plus performance) that IS a significant proportion of the entire dvd of course.... thankfully WDNY produces these very long dvds!!!

Scott, you're mean. I already ordered 2 DVDs this month, this one will probably be on my list for the next month then.

Yeah, I agree on the trailers. 4-5 minutes really lets you know if this is likely to be useful to what you are working on. Can also be educational. I watched the trailer for the hip-hop fusion dance which I thought was another bubblehead bimbo concept. But after watching Anasma's explanation, I have a much better appreciation for what she is doing. Still not interested in doing it, but I might recommend the dvd to someone who is.

Good quality material and a good price. What's not to like? I enjoy Luscious. It's soothing and pretty yet a good drill all at the same time.

Sarah Skinner has some of the best instructional videos ever. And with WDNY's prices, it's a win-win situation.

OK, you GOT to me! I pre-ordered and can't wait to get it. Curse you, WDNY - you're making me a broke (but fabulous) dancer!

Wow, it looks like a great production. Sarah is so wonderful and this looks like another winner. I'm very happy for WDNY's work and high-quality, broad-based DVDs.

WOW! That is a must have! Sarah is an amazing a gorgeous dancer.

But I was wondering Scott, if WDNY has any plans to make a more intermediate/advanced workout DVD, like Love Potion (which I have just received and loving it!) where its solely workout and not the additional time on the instruction/practice? I know I would definitely appreciate it!

Upto now I have been using Shape Up N' Hip out and its getting rather boring. Having just seen Love Potion, and can definitely see the jump up in difficulty from Luscious, I was wondering if there was a possibility of having just a complete workout DVD with longer/harder workouts?

Neon said something like it might be a series.. I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed for that!

Well I appreciate the Tutorial part of Love Potion I didn't use it on Luscious but as the complexity has stepped up and my co-ordination hasn't, I began with the practice flow. it is obviously a response to criticism of the original as Tutorial etc is now in practice clothes. This makes it accessible to Beginner dancers as well as more challenging, wihich is definately the way to go.

I also use Shape Up to up my fitness level and dance speed, but it doesn't do as much for my dancing as the Neon ones. Have you tried Rythms?

Oooooh, I MUST have this!

Taksims are so hard for me because I like to move a lot. This is something I really need help with and this video looks like just what I need.

You do actually move in a taqsim a lot, but in VERY subtle ways. And tiny movement is often harder than big bold one, at least for me.
I also need to somewhat get this control over very refined movements. What s a problem is also to taqsim music I often start to reflect when it s slow - and doubt on whether what one does is good enough kills so much. I hope to get my mind "cleared" with the inspiration on that video. :)

Hi, smileandshake! We are working on the third DVD in World Dance New York's "The Bellydance Workout" series, and the level of difficulty in the third one will be higher - but just a tiny bit so. It will certainly be in the same format as LUSCIOUS and LOVE POTION, so they will constitute a three-DVD series.

For the future: We will definitely consider the format you have suggested...but hey have you tried Neon and Raquy's workout DVD? The Bellydance Rhythms Workout contains two programs, and the second one is physically more intense than any of our other workouts. Enjoy!!
