LOL, I think I heard that "Pussy Cat" when I was in Cairo last year . . . very curious and have to get!!!

I listened to the clips, and he really says "Pussy Cat" in the song, which I think I would find distracting. Any clue as to what the song is about?

No, I don't know what it is about . . . other than "Pussy Cat", which you know could be taken in a bad context here! But I am sure Leila wouldn't be dancing to it if it is tooooooooooo suggestive . . . maybe? maybe not??

It just seemed quite cute when I saw her performing to it . . . but I was a bit surprised too, lol. Well, I am a cat-lover so I think it could be a cute number with an animal print costume, hehe!!

Maybe Yasmin would be kind enough to give us a clue! Hey, Yasmin!!! help out the "arabic impaired", please!!

Of COURSE it's suggestive, but cute at the same time. That's what Egyptian dancing is all about! The lyrics to all the songs are included with the CD - but they've been translated by an Egyptian who doesn't speak English very well ...

Pussy Cat - originally sung by Abdel Bastet Hamouda (GREAT version) that I first heard in 2006 and suggested to Leila it would be great for her Sha'abi section.

Didn't Tom Jones record a song called "Pussycat, Pussycat, I Love You" during the 60s (I think it was for a movie called "Alfie")? I think it was in the same vein as this song, someone who really loves a woman.

Today when I hear it though, it cracks me up but then I was watching "The Munsters" and Lilly always called Herman her "pussycat" with no sexual connotation behind it.

Of course I'm selling these directly, and I take credit cards, but my site is acting up and won't accept the numbers. If you want to call me on our toll-free # [1 (800) 835-7537] I can take the info over the phone and ship the next day. True it's faster that way, but some people prefer the security of a large site like CD Baby or Amazon. I have a store here in Bethesda, MD so I'm set up for orders.

Booklet question: These are Leila's CDs, I'm just her distributor. They are not part of the Sands of Time series. The lyrics are on a one page insert folded in a jewel case with the CD - like typical albums. Everything is done. No room for my disorganization ..g.:

It's a great CD. Nice variety. Listening to it right now, actually.

Particularly excited to have "Shirtit Einu Etganin," but that's just me. :)

For those of you patiently waiting, CD Baby received the CDs today.

I forgot to mention that the entrance piece on the CD was originally written for Aiza Shariff in the 1980s. I have footage of her dancing to it. It's a lovely piece. Of course Leila has put her own special imprint on it.
