Thread: Now Bellydance in 3-D??

I just saw an ad for one of the new upcoming Bellydance Superstars DVD. Get this - they're relasing a DVD called "3-D Superstars Volume 1" supposedly in December of this year. I quote - "All captured in glorious 3-D! Each DVD comes with 3-D glasses."

LOL - I can't decide what to think about this. I know 3-D movies are the new retro craze, but I'm trying to imagine a bellydancer coming out of the screen like Godzilla in an old 3-D monster movie. I'm not sure this a trend that will elevate the fine art of Oriental Dance, but how can I not add such a thing to my collection? ..l;,

I'm laughing because I'm visualizing your post! I don't think it will elavate the dance form, but I think I'd just add it for fun as a novelty.

i wonder if this is a precursor to 3-d instructional videos? that might have a useful application

God, those 3-D glasses always makes me giggle hysterically.
Yes to 3d video instructionals! I always find it hard to understand movement on a flat screen, while I have no problem in real life.

will it look weird if you watch it without the glasses? because I wouldn't feel like putting on 3d glasses to watch a dvd

I saw it in a print ad in the magazine "The Chronicles". Not sure if you can find it online yet.

From other 3-D movies I've seen, I assume it will look a little fuzzy without the 3-D glasses.

Hmm.. curious for that one.
I found most 3-D except for those specialized movie theatres not entirely convincing. I remember when I was a kid the entire family sat in front of the tv with those glasses to watch a dinosaur series :)))

well as I said it wasn't entirely convincing. maybe the technology is better now!
