Thumbs up Little Egypt March 2009 dvd's?

Anyone have any of the new dvd's? Just wondering what you have and what they're like? Trying to decide whether to pick n' mix or get the package.
    Thanks

I have Nour's Dallas 2009 Oriental, Saidi and Drum Solo workshops. I haven't worked with them yet but from what I've seen I like them a lot. I like Nour and I love the music. The dvds are better produced than the previous 2007 and 2008 Dallas workshops. The set is the same with the pyramid as last year's Dallas workshops but the camera focuses closer on the dancer and you do not see any of the participants, apart from a head and some hands here and there. In general I find it easier to follow the dancer now. ..g.:

I also have Randa's 2009 Miami workshops but I was a bit disappointed that the background of the set is black and Randa is also wearing a black top and black pants thus making it difficult to distinguish her movements sometimes. But I love Randa and there are some nice new combos here. These are a must for all Randa fans !

Thanks so much for the heads-up/mini-review of the Miami 2009 Randa dvd, Antigone!
I was at the Little Egypt "Ahlan Cairo Nights" Montreal 2009 event/workshops & show in April 2009: DeeDee did say that the workshops to purchase would be from Miami as the content was identical (Randa(LUV her!:)), Dr. Mo, Nagwa:)). But I am not able to get in there from my work computer; I would really like to also get the Friday night contest & guest performances (1 was one) show dvd & the Saturday night gala show... Can you tell right now off the top of your head if you remember seeing them for sale?..g.:

Hi Zafirah, you can get the two Montreal shows for $80, but don't know if the Miami shows are available yet as they still show as coming soon ! !

    Thanks
I bought the two Dr. Mo DVDs because I had enjoyed the workshops so much. So far, down to the words he speaks, the workshops are exactly the same as what I experienced in Montreal. I do have one major problem with the video though and it's not Little Egypts fault - Dr. Mo wore black pants against a black background! It's hard to tell what his legs are doing and this particular DVD doesn't show as much of the audience as they have in the past.

The Baladi DVD uses a new Saad song, and the Andalusian/Oriental DVD uses the song "Summer" on Delli Ya Delli II (a Dr. Mo CD).

I was in the Montreal workshops, so although the two locations had the same teachers, I am not sure if it was the same material for Randa and Nagua. Randa in particular covered a great # of topics very quickly and I wasn't sure if she was just teaching what she felt like teaching at that moment. Nagua seemed to have a choreography but I couldn't stay for all of it (had to start the 6 hour drive home). At any rate, I didn't buy the DVDs so I can't say what they ended up having on them.

Thanks for the mini reviews gals. It sounds like she hosts very good events.

The only advantages of showing the audience I've found are 1, I'm glad they're struggling as much as me-I feel better now :-) ok not always but it's makes me feel less of a three legged donkey.
2, It's good to see how they moves look on differenct body types.

Re: Little Egypt March 2009 dvd's?

I do like to see the audience to get an idea of what it looks like on a female body (in the case of Dr. Mo), but I hate it when they ONLY pan the audience - very rarely are the workshop participants doing it _right_ (it is after all, their first time learning the material.) I'm so glad they filmed Miami not Montreal or y'all would be looking at my dorky butt. What's funny is -when you're in these workshops - without mirrors - you are (or I am anyway) totally convinced that you are getting it and look _awesome_.

I think that ideally the backdrops would be consistently white, since most workshop instructors wear black (I can't remember anyone ever wearing a white jumpsuit to teach.) I think every teacher that weekend wore black to teach.

They are awesome events - I just saw it advertised in Zaghareet that she's going to bring Fifi to Montreal next summer. OMG.
