WDNY is really setting a great standard for new begginer bellydance dvds. Long gone are the days of bellytwins!

This one looks challenging!
I love that they produce a full-length workout and a separate instructional on the same DVD. I buy these for the workout segment, to be forced to drill movements and put them into different combinations - work on fluidity and such. I love that the instructional section is distinct and doesn't have to be watched if you just want the workout. So to me, these are both for the beginner market and the intermediate/advanced market. Good idea.

The costumes, production quality, etc are all visually pleasing, but am I the only one who thinks these titles ("Love Potion," "Hard Candy") sound erotic, corny, and have nothing to do with belly dance?

I definitely think they sound a little suggestive :)

So how was this? How intermediate/advanced is it? Did you enjoy the music?

Darbla - the music is not the highlight. It's not horrible but it's not the kind of music I would choose to dance to normally.

I actually didn't like this one as much, just not my style - the movements felt awkward and unfamiliar to me. I'm more of an Arabic-style dancer. The new dancer Elisheva - doesn't she do a lot of pop & lock - anyway, I think she's very good but it didn't flow easily for me like the other sequences on the other videos in this series.

On the other hand, my nanny (who is teaching herself to bellydance from the instructional portion of this DVD) LOVES it.

So is it fair to say that I didn't care for it but that it's no judgment on the product itself? That I'm sure other people would like it very much, and the reason I didn't like it was purely preference?

As for how intermediate/advanced - it is pretty fast-paced and I would say it's probably the most advanced of the three.

Hi girls, may I ask if this workout more like tribal? Is it better than Love Potion?

Just watched this and now trying to work my way through it... all I can say is WOW! Well worth the money!!!

It's not tribal.

Is it a good workout?

Yeah, but is it more LIKE tribal? I think so because of Elisheva. It's more locks & pops and such.
