Thread: Amera Asal AMAZING CD!!

I am listening to a music cd my room mate got a while back together with the AMAZING beautiful khaleegy dvd by Ameera (Australia) called Asal or zay al asal.

BEAUTIFUL art work deliciously dripping honey.

I love good album artwork and could bathe in this one :)

seriously, so beautiful..

BUT THEN THE MUSIC IS JUST GLORIOUS!!

we listen to it and dance about quite merrily althrough it.

I don't like it very much. I was super excited to get it but was disappointed when I heard it. The luscious graphics were such a tease but the content is flat. It's all synthesized music!!! ;-( Where are the REAL LIVE instruments? I expected more from her.
I was also disappointed with her Farha and Khaleegy DVD's. Again, nice graphic design but NO DVD Markers (or sloppily placed ones). What's the point of making a DVD if you can't navigate through accurately? It might as well have been a VHS tape. Plus, the camera work and sound quality on the Farha tour DVD and CD are so unprofessional.
I will definitely hestiate before buying any of her new stuff again. It's too bad because I enjoy her older CD who's name escapes me right now.

to be honest every bellydance cd I own has synthesizers... can you point me to a fully orchestrated one? While I am not fond of the synthesizer sound I have come to accept it for bellydance cds. And the songs you really do not like?? I loved most of them. It is my nicest album so far. most variety.
(for reference, I own mostly Hossam Ramzy and Emad Sayyah cds.. some wash ya wash which I honestly find a bit "canned" too - although one cd was more disappointing than another, I can look it up if someone is interested..)

Jalilah's Raks Sharki Series is unsynthesized as far as I can tell, and mostly available on itunes.

thanks a lot! I have heard much good about her - and own the Lebanon volume I think, and loved it. I bought it because of Tales of the Sahara initially, butnow I cannot hear that tune anymore. Overkill :-D

I hope you'll not be disappointed given some others here did not get this warm with the cd :) actually a friend of mine ordered it from Australia together with the Khaleegy dvd! there was a promotion with free shipping she said.. so contacting Amera on it may be worth it!

I know pekorecords carries it and offers good shipping deals, and you may want to check UK sellers like Farida..

I´m sure I won´t be disappointed;there´s many records I like despite a heavy org sound on them,I just think "aaah nightclub feeling"nowadays:D

Yes they do:if you click at the "preview"tab,the first 8 songs are from the Rindala cd-
it´s avaliable as a single cd of course but it´s so nice to hear samples before you commit:)

I was wondering about Amera Asal's CD. I had a chance to listen to a few tracks on the CD and it sounded rather good. However, I was more interested in getting her DVD on Khaleegy. I'll have to run a search on Bhuz to see if there is a review for the DVD, though......

I own Amera's Khaleegy dvd and I really like it. Lots of good moves, easy and fun to follow. She goes over steps in a nice steady pace, I'm not big on instructionals that break every little move down and goes at snails pace.
Also really love the Asal CD.
