hi everybody,

so we know there is a 3-dvd series by Sara coming up on wdny..

is the cover pretty or what??

the other two volumes will be on fluid and percussive moves, respectively, and be more in the movement flow format WDNY is so good in if I remember correctly. So tribal gals can get their own "luscious" like series here I have the impression! I am very curious for that one. And very curious for Sara's beginner dvd. I own her other tribal dvd, just because it looked so interesting. However the yoga and everything tends to intimidate me a bit. I may try tribal with this one ..g.: (and the look on some relatives's and friends' faces who despise tribal bellydance with a passion of me in that tribal gear with fake tattoos would be priceless!).

I've been trying to get my DVDs through Middle Eastern Dance DVDs (Ocean State Media) because I can get so much more for the $, but for these, I think I'm gonna have to pay full price! ..l;, ..g.:

I once tried Ocean State Media, didn't work very well.
I ordered my DVDs directly from WDNY ever since and never had any problems. The shipping was fast, the consumer service was friendly. AND the big plus: I can support Scott & Neon directly to keep up the good work. ;)

Very pretty. I love the image but can I throw a spanner in the works..will they really be teaching the fundamentals of belly dance? Runs for Cover

PS Perhaps change thread title, her name is Sera, not Sara. At first I thought you meant Sarah Skinner & was a tad confused.

really??? both Ocean state and WDNY worked very well for me!

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in WDNY's website for a different reason: I reviewed two of their products a while ago and they never posted them. :-(

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, Fancypants. I placed two separate orders for a total of 15 DVDs with Ocean State on 27 Feb and received both completed orders today. I saved $160 off the standard DVD pricing, shipping was free, and my order arrived before the estimated ship time (7-14 business days). I am very pleased indeed!

(And, yes, I know, that's a crazy number of DVDs.... but I'm laid-up with a knee injury and can't dance for three months. ..cr.: So I just took some of the money set aside for lessons and spent it on DVDs - I might not be able to dance myself, but that doesn't mean I can't keep watching and learning...g.:)

I did the same with a knee injury years ago!! and last year I had a painful toe joint inflammation and bought and watched tons of dvds all the way through! over-compensation I guess.. :)

Gals, how do I change the thread name?? I was searching for an option for that, and could find none (I use Firefox if that makes a difference in the options to do that). Sorry for the misspelling!

oh and btw: for an injury WDNY is the dvd company to go for. Watching pleasure is immensely greater when you have 3 to 4 hour dvds to watch, let alone when there are complex warm-ups, movement flows or more inspirational parts on the dvds! WDNY are THE best for these kind of things, at least they were for me. last year's Ranya, Autumn Ward, Sarah Skinner dvds, and the series of Luscious-Love Potion; Anasma and so on and so forth were indeed a delight to watch! I have yet to work with most of them now that my toe is better though :)

Go to your original post, click "edit" then click "advanced edit". I think that should do it.

That was my thought exactly. I am interested to work with Sera but she's a tribal fusion dancer... why are tribal fusion dancers now teaching the fundamentals of "belly dance"? There are lots of fundamentals of belly dance DVDs out there by dancers/performers who don't consciously "fuse".

I know that having tribal presented as undifferentiated belly dance is something that gets my goat, admittedly.

Sera is a very beautiful, talented belly dancer. I love her other Tribal DVD and I can't wait for this set to come out.

I'm one of the dancers in the DVD, and I can vouch that it is about the technique of belly dance. ..g.:

From my experience OSM carries most dvds in a very short time frame after the amazon release. Just ordered a couple of dvds from Kevin (thanks Kevin for advice, customer service, patience - always great to order from you!), and he carried BDSS 3D probably the same day amazon would have shipped them. Plus I've always had good experience with asking about dvds that were not in the catalogue, and many times Kevin and OSM were able to get them within a week or so.

So highly recommended for shipping to Europe - one week to 10 days is very fast compared to amazon (which often takes more than 6 - yes SIX - weeks).

I don't know what Sera teaches on the video, but having taken a lot of classes alongside her here in DC before she moved to New York, I can at least attest to her knowledge of the fundamentals of bellydance. Before she moved into fusion several years ago, she was already an excellent technician in oriental.

Sorry I forgot to mentioned the East Coast Tribal Release. We normally get this a few days after the release so we should have it by the end of the month or shortly after. Also please note release dates sometimes change.
