I think it's a fabulous idea to have a "talky" trailer for a beginner video.. to get more people interested.
I would have loved a little info on how the moves taught will be different from other beginner dvds.. or from her previous dvd. But since the people owning a TON of beginner dvds already will most likely get this one anyway it definitely makes more business sense to get new customers attracted.
I am so in for this! I have become a little interested in trying tribal recently. Just something different to try out.. the other videos intimidate me a little.
The WARM UP of the other tribal dvds actually intimidates me a little already :)

Thanks, gals - well I have good news at last. The DVDs arrived today Friday April 9th at our warehouse and we started shipping them immediately. If you are one of the few who managed to place an order a few weeks ago when the 'buy' buttons were briefly illuminated, yours is already on its way to you...and SERA herself has not even seen it yet (she's coming by tonight to hold it in her hands!). We just switched the "buy" buttons back on at the US and worldwide websites and all orders that come in from now through the weekend will ship out Monday morning. Thanks for your patience: Sorry for all these delays due to problems at the factory...

When is the rest of the series scheduled to come out? I think Amazon said April, but it doesn't seem like it.

Holy warm-up, Batman!!! Had to take a break before starting on the combos so I could, you know, collapse a bit on the carpet.

Great DVD, first off, I LOVE that someone finally gave us the secret decoder ring for the arm positions. Now I can hang out with the big kids. *g*

The combos are really neat, broken down by group (arms, hips, etc...) and really dancy and fun.

The only thing that I'm just a bitty teensy bit ticked off by is the fact that it's not clearly identified what song is used for which combo. It annoys me because I like to download the tracks used from iTunes so I don't have to stand in front of the TV all the time to do the combos. (psst, Scott: don't use unreleased tracks next time, please? It's torture when there's a song I really like! *g*)

And that's my only criticism, really. Everything else about the DVD is awesome. I like Sera's voice, clear and calm, I like that there's lots of different body types shown and that the combos are separate units but can still be put together at the end. That way, you can choose the length of time you want to practice and still feel like you've got a plan even if you work only 30 minutes at a time.

Hi, I have East Coast Tribal, Sera's first. I am considering this one but wondering how different is it? I am huge fan of Sera but don't wish to purchase DVD that might just cover/teach the same stuff. Is this more beginner or more advanced that 1st one? ..c:: thanks

Have you read Mala's review? I know she worked with Sera's first dvd excessively as well as with the other WDNY tribal ones :)))
She does give lots of information of what one or the other contains.

Interestingly, the new beginner one does not seem to be easier necessarily - which I would have kind of hoped :) (although my very first live workshop I took recently held by a lovely Tunisian lady, which was labelled "advanced" and consisted largely of bellydance professionals showed me I should be more daring in moving forward :) but I'm such a coward!!)

To your question: according to Mala it seems to contain very different material (which, personally, I take for granted knowing WDNY!).

I've ordered this one, but what are the others? Have I missed somehting, I didn't see anything on WDNY while I was there am I not looking in the right place?

If you look at Amazon under solar bellydance or lunar bellydance, you'll find that they are due out in the summer. I wish they had come out in April. I like workout flows.
