The dvd plays fine in my (Mac) computer (in the default program called "Dvd player" (imaginative name isn't it ;) )- well the problem is I like to extract my dvds to hard drive and play them there. To not wear out my dvds - I don't like the idea of having to repurchase all the dvds I work with a lot at some point.

So while I can extract the files, they will not play in ANY player like vlc etc. Even trying to play the dvd itself in vlc did not work (it is played, but major visual and audio "disturbances").
I do not mind for the moment since my dvd does play fine - whatever they did (maybe copy protection?) it really sucks. At least according to the laws in my country I have every right as a consumer to make back-up copies on hard drive. Them disenabling that makes me angry. .p::
If I knew a company were big on this I'd stop buying from them - don't like the mentality of wanting to force me to repurchase if my copy wears out.

I am LOVING this dvd. It's so LONG!!!! I haven't finished it yet.

Her explanations are very clear, and she goes to a lot of trouble to tell you where your weight should be and when and how it should shift. Several times in the basic instruction section she will differentiate the Egyptian way as opposed to the "other" ways of achieving the movement.

more later, but this is one dvd I'm definitely going to recommend to my students.

The movements are the basics, but so nice to drill them with Leila. And you will drill. The arms and shoulder section had mine screaming. Just one of those things I don't drill enough. I love the way she shows things from different angles but doesn't say left or right, just "the other side" so if you are using a different side than she is, you are not confused--just switch to the other side.

We all need to refresh the basics to keep technique from getting sloppy and I think these long drills help build endurace and keep muscle memory from getting dim.

This is definitely going in my drilling and workout pile of dvds.

I love Leila, this sounds like a great DVD. And ..... hehehehehehe...... I have that purple costume she is wearing on the cover. LOOOOOOVE it. I bought it from Caroline (U.K.), not sure if it was Leila's or Caroline had her own made, but I'm not the original owner. So grateful for Bhuz and Ebay, LOL!!

I love Leila too! and I want this DVD as well since I'm sure she breaks down basics in a different way then others because of her time in Egypt.

But I'm in Egypt right now so I think a private lesson is in order :)

Finally I've got this DVD!!!!
And I want to contribute to this thread by making my own short review ,r:;
First of all I liked that nice music on the background
And I liked the way that when you practice it Leila says not to forget to breathe .p:: Also I liked that she says moves and twists are in your head, you just have to think how you want it to be and the accent (for example) will go up or down. When you're making a "jewel" and thinking of twisting your standing leg or thinking about twisting your free leg - you're getting completely different movement.
Also it's a nice practice tool even if you're not a beginner and want to master your skills or simply to dance following her ..g.:
