Thread: Debating between 2 scimitars, both very similar. anyone have either?

One is from strongblade:
Balanced Scimitar

The other from Atlanta Belly Dance:
Belly Dance Props: Tuareg aka Cas Hanwei or Cas Iberia Sword and Scimitar

I've heard good things about the one from atlanta, balanced well, looks fierce, etc. Any experience with either?

I would recommend this one, as it is not as sharp as the others but looks sharp and is a great price. I have this one, it's heavy and balances well and I highly recommend it.

SW665 - Baladay Scimitar - $44.95

Amethyst I debated for a month on a scimitar, and considered the Atlanta Belly Dance and the Kult of Athena one Jewels recommended. I got the latter and am very happy. My teacher was extremely impressed with the quality (especially for the price!) though she prefers lighter swords herself, but my research indicated heavy is good. It's perfectly balanced and I love it!

I asked a friend who is into weaponry if he could sharpen my Athena sword and he said he could though he didn't see the point - if you are just learning and ever grab the blade, you don't want to hurt yourself! From a distance it looks plenty sharp, and the tip IS sharp.

I like the Moorish just a little more though-it has a better weight to it-but I favor heavier swords. The Balady is a little lighter-and a great sword to work with. : )
