I have been eyeing these for a while, but they are so much more $$$ than the wdny and cheeky girls DVDs that I am thinking twice before buying. Does anyone have these, who can let me know their thoughts, or can anyone point me to a review? Thanks!

Re: Delilah's three instructional DVDs
I'm just popping in this morning...I LOVE mine!!!! I refer to it often for lots of things especially the veil portion. Maybe someone will have it used on Bhuz.

Re: Delilah's three instructional DVDs
I especially love her veil, floorwork, and bellyroll sections. Great overviews on different rhythms. I think the various movements and categories are well organized and thorough. The set is sprinkled throughout with great performances to illustrate the movements in combination. Over the years it's been helpful to go to specific portions to brush up, correct technique, or work in a movement family. Great for reminding yourself of movements, or learning other basics that your instructor doesn't tend to incorporate in class. It's like having a bellydance encyclopedia.
If you only dance one style (like only Egyptian), then you might want something else that would teach with the stylistics that you use. I don't tend to use them for fun or exercise; I'll will grab other videos that have combinations for that. But this set has been very useful to me over the years.Last edited by Roeska; 05-23-2010 at 12:40 PM. Reason: grammar

Re: Delilah's three instructional DVDs
I own Vol 1, and have looked at Vol2 at a friend's.
I must say I believe these can be great value at a much more advanced stage in my practice - I do not find myself having much use at this point of my practice for "encyclopedia" like dvds, be they by Delilah, Jenna, or Jehan: If you search for comprehensiveness of moves, think endless variations of one move, then they may be what you are searching for (I must say from watching I like Jenna and Jehan slightly better than Delilah - just for stylistic preference in the moves: if you are heavily into American cabaret you may enjoy Delilah's style more than I do; if on the other hand you are very put off by "goddess" type stuff you may not like Jehan much (I am not into the goddessy stuff at all, but for some reason I like Jehan's 2 dvd set quite a bit better than I thought!)
The downsides of these dvds for me are they are unsatisfying for me in depth - I feel rushed through A TON of movements with these dvds. I hear they are of great use for people who want to revise as many moves as possible in a short time. Not for me yet, but maybe in the future. At this moment I prefer to drill selective moves, but with more in-depth guidance, and less "everything there is" for hip circles, eights etc.
Does it make sense? :)

I own the set, and they are worth every cent! They are an excellent investment as they are very comprehensive (cover tons of material), easy to follow, and inspiring. Highly recommended!

If you're put off by goddess stuff you will not like Delilah either.if on the other hand you are very put off by "goddess" type stuff you may not like Jehan much
I do think Delilah's DVDs would be a great addition to your collection if you like American Cabaret style; she makes up some great arm/hand pathways and floor-type moves that look wonderful, she's very good at dramatically-infused stuff and her veilwork is beautiful.
