I was one of the lucky ones who got to try this for free and I am so excited...does little dance around the chair and then sits back down to type. I was going to buy it anyway because it sounded intriguing...anyway...
Woot! Woot! I listened to it for the first time last night and today I had the BEST practice I've had in a long time. I felt more energetic (all day actually) and my belief in myself/my dance ability was amazing (I feel like someone pulled all the cobwebs and negativity out of my brain .w.:) - especially as I have been feeling lately that what I do is not good enough. I love the visualizations on the CD and worked today on the energy coming from the core. I honestly feel that using this CD is going to greatly improve my performance abilities...it's going to help me get over (or at least manage) the negative self-talk, for sure!..g.:
Can't say enough good things about this after just one time through...I plan to listen every day for awhile and am hoping I will realize many more benefits from it!!!! Thank you Sabrina!!

Oops, sorry. I guess that would be helpful...I posted the information from her original thread and a link to purchase in my post above!

I'm really loving my copy as well. I feel that with consistent use this can really have benefits for both my general day to day relaxation and my dancing.

Another great thing is that the narrators voice is so soothing that I've been using it to help me get to sleep. haha.

I can't wait to receive mine, I have been feeling stuck for 2 or 3 months and it is depressing. Sounds like I absolutely did the right thing by buying the CD.

I'm really curious now. I've never had a meditation CD so far, so how exactly does it work? Is it a voice telling you "relax, you're awesome"? (Of course this is a very simplified guess from someone that has no idea what she should expect ,r:; )

Kjesta: The hypnotic meditation CD works to activate your subconscious mind in a way that helps you with your dance form and performance. Its the same principles used by professional athletes when they do their mental preparation and pre-competition mental walk-throughs.

The program was developed in conjunction with Certified Master Clinical Hypnotherapists and the methodology is scientifically sound and properly presented. Its the same methodology used when these therapists help their Olympic athlete clients break through issues of form improvement, etc.

There are specific ways that this type of program is formulated, to be effective for the brain. The brain has already visualized a specific success and accepts it as a currently positive success, and therefore knows it can be accomplished and replicated. It is then easier for the dancer/athlete/etc. to replicate the success of the change in form when in physical practice.

So, its not just "relax, you are awesome" It's specific dance practice and performance imagery, presented in a scientifically formulated way so that the subconscious mind accepts suggestions of improvement.

The listener is in control the whole time and is free to accept or reject any of the ideas.
