Thread: Introduction to Bellynesian - Sonia

Sonia combines bellydance moves and fuses it with Polynesian dance moves. This DVD was VERY well done. She has a warmup, covers some basic polynesian and belly dance steps, combos, then cool down.
What I liked:
1. Her music, outfits and scenery really set the mood.
2. when she does the instruction/combos she is facing a mirror so you can see her from front and back view.
3. Very clear instruction with great enfaces on posture
4. Her cool down has 1 in studio and 1 along the ocean
5. Her performance is lovely, 1 outdoors and again indoors with the live duo drummers
Be sure to watch her documentary on Tahiti and cultural experience. 1 part Sonia and Moena (premier Tahitian ballet dancer) do a comparison of belly dance moves versus Polynesian moves. Here you get a real feel for the subtle differences between them.

Sounds interesting, I may have to give it a go.
